A wild west bandana for a university print shop.
Working in a design and print studio has its perks- one of them being the freedom to create. Commonvision encourages this by providing free giveaway materials for students and staff on campus. Inspired by our custom wallpaper and a love for Americana, I wanted to illustrate a bandana that captured the creative spirit of commonvision.
I chose to balance everyday elements of the print shop with western-themed motifs and icons from american traditional tattooing. Styling print shop constants (stapler, scissors, paperclips, vector selection box, etc) with classic american artwork motifs created an almost patriot-like feeling of pride towards my workplace. A patchwork design made elements easy to maneuver and remove to create space for text.
